Best Wired Earphones Under ₹1,000 in October 2026
Four wired earphones we could support with sources, sorted by connector so you do not buy a plug your phone cannot use, with an honest list of what we could not verify.
Published October 11, 2026. Last updated October 11, 2026. Last reviewed October 11, 2026.
How this guide was prepared. This guide is research-based. We did not test any earphones, so we make no claims about measured sound, microphone recordings or how long the cable lasts. Specifications come from the manufacturer's support page where we found one (JBL, and Sony's regional specification sheet), and otherwise from Croma and Reliance Digital listings and launch coverage, all read on 11 October 2026. We found no independent review of any of the four, so sound descriptions are limited to what the manufacturer states. We could not read prices from Amazon.in or Flipkart, so retailer buttons open a search and prices are "Check current price". Where sources disagreed, we say so.
The short verdict
Start with the connector, not the brand. If your phone has a 3.5 mm jack, the JBL C100SI has the best-documented specification here and the Sony MDR-EX155AP offers more ear-tip sizes. If your phone has only USB-C, the boAt BassHeads 100 C is the only plug-in pick we could support. The realme Buds 2 Neo is the cheapest 3.5 mm option, but we could not confirm it is currently in stock.
We did not name a best-sounding earphone, because we found no independent review of any of these four, and a driver size or an impedance figure does not say how an earphone sounds.
How we chose, and what we could not check
- Budget: a displayed price of ₹1,000 or less for the exact model, before offers. Only the Sony's snapshot price is close to the cap.
- What we weighted: connector clarity, whether there is an inline mic and what its buttons do, the published driver and cable facts, and the strength of the sourcing.
- Specifications versus findings: driver size, impedance and sensitivity are manufacturer figures. We make no statement about sound beyond what the maker says.
- What we did not do: we did not test any earphone, read any price from Amazon.in or Flipkart, or confirm every Indian warranty term.
Comparison at a glance
Specifications are as reported by the sources below for the exact model shown. Retailer prices are not shown because we could not read them from the Amazon.in and Flipkart listings.

Recommended models
- JBL C100SI
Best-documented 3.5 mm option
JBL C100SI
Configuration: 3.5 mm wired, with inline mic
- Connector:
- 3.5 mm plug (Star Tech)
- Driver:
- 9 mm dynamic drivers; 20 Hz to 20 kHz; 16 ±3.2 Ω; sensitivity 100 ±3 dB at 1 mW (JBL support)
- Mic and controls:
- Inline microphone with a universal remote for calls on Android and iOS; JBL says the remote is a one-button type with no volume control (JBL support)
- Cable:
- 1.2 m (JBL support)
- Fit:
- Three sizes of ear tips included (JBL support)
Good for: Buyers who want a plain, light earphone with a published specification and JBL's bass-forward tuning.
Strengths
- JBL publishes the full specification, which is rare at this price.
- Works for calls on both Android and iOS through the inline mic.
- Three ear-tip sizes in the box.
Weaknesses
- No volume buttons on the remote, so you change volume on the phone.
- We found no independent review and no cable-durability evidence.
- We could not confirm the Indian warranty term from a JBL India page.
- A 3.5 mm plug only: it does not fit a phone with only a USB-C port without an adapter.
Trade-off: A clear specification and a trusted brand, but a basic one-button remote and no independent verdict on sound or durability.
Buying advice: Confirm that your phone has a 3.5 mm jack. Prices in the lists we read ranged from roughly ₹499 to ₹899 and were undated, so compare the displayed price on both stores.
Budget check: Well inside ₹1,000 on every figure we saw, none of them dated.
Price: Check current price. The lists we read gave undated figures between about ₹499 and ₹899, so we cannot quote one.

- Sony MDR-EX155AP
Best for fit options and a published sensitivity figure
Sony MDR-EX155AP
Configuration: 3.5 mm wired, with inline remote and mic
- Connector:
- L-shaped, gold-plated 4-pole 3.5 mm plug (Sony Australia)
- Driver:
- 9 mm dome-type dynamic driver; 16 Ω; 103 dB/mW; 5 Hz to 24 kHz (Sony Australia)
- Mic and controls:
- Inline remote and microphone for hands-free calls and track changes (Sony Australia)
- Cable:
- About 1.2 m, Y-type, with a serrated tangle-resistant design (Sony Australia)
- Fit:
- Hybrid ear tips in four sizes (SS, S, M, L) (Sony Australia)
- India listing:
- Reliance Digital lists the same 9 mm driver, 1.2 m Y-type cord and four tip sizes (Reliance Digital)
Good for: Buyers who care about getting the right ear-tip fit and a lightweight earphone with a recognised brand.
Strengths
- Four ear-tip sizes, one more than the JBL's three, which helps with fit.
- An L-shaped 4-pole plug and a Y-type cable.
- A published sensitivity and frequency range.
Weaknesses
- We found no independent review and could not confirm the Indian warranty term.
- Our specification source is Sony's Australian page; the Indian listing matches on the details we could compare, but check the box contents.
- Whether the remote has volume buttons is not stated in the sources we read.
- 3.5 mm only.
Trade-off: Good fit options and a known brand, with the least certainty about controls and warranty.
Buying advice: Reliance Digital's snapshot listed the black version at ₹999 against a ₹1,290 MRP, which is right at this guide's cap, so it fits only if the displayed price on Amazon or Flipkart is ₹1,000 or less.
Budget check: At ₹999 it is right at the cap. It fits only when the displayed price is ₹1,000 or less.
Price: Check current price. A Reliance Digital product page (undated snapshot) listed ₹999 against a ₹1,290 MRP. We have no Amazon or Flipkart figure.

- realme Buds 2 Neo
Budget 3.5 mm pick for gamers, with a 90° plug
realme Buds 2 Neo
Configuration: Wired, 3.5 mm (not the Type-C version some lists describe)
- Connector:
- 3.5 mm with a 90-degree angled plug (Croma)
- Driver:
- 11.2 mm dynamic driver (Croma)
- Mic and controls:
- Inline microphone and remote; launch coverage says it has no inline volume control (FoneArena)
- Cable:
- Gear-shaped cable designed to resist tangles (Croma)
- Warranty:
- 12 months, as listed by Croma (Croma)
Good for: Buyers who want the cheapest 3.5 mm option with a right-angle plug for holding a phone while gaming.
Strengths
- A 90° plug that sits flatter against a phone held in landscape.
- A larger 11.2 mm driver than the 9 mm drivers of the JBL and Sony, though driver size does not decide sound quality.
- A 12-month warranty on Croma's listing.
Weaknesses
- It launched in 2021, and we could not confirm that it is currently in stock on Amazon.in or Flipkart.
- No volume buttons, and no independent review.
- One ranking site we found calls it a Type-C earphone. Croma and the launch coverage both say 3.5 mm, so a USB-C-only phone would need an adapter.
Trade-off: A low price and a sturdy-looking plug, with the weakest evidence on current availability.
Buying advice: Check that the listing is in stock and says Buds 2 Neo, not Buds 2 (which has volume buttons) or Buds 3. Do not buy it for a phone with no 3.5 mm jack unless you also buy a suitable adapter.
Price: Check current price. We found no reliable current price. Treat any figure on a list as a hint and read the displayed price.

- boAt BassHeads 100 C
The USB-C option, for phones with no headphone jack
boAt BassHeads 100 C
Configuration: USB-C wired, with inline mic and volume buttons
- Connector:
- USB Type-C plug; listed as compatible with Android, iOS and Windows devices (Croma)
- Driver:
- 10 mm dynamic drivers with boAt Signature Sound (Croma)
- Mic and controls:
- Inline mic with a 58 dB signal-to-noise ratio, and buttons for volume up, volume down and play/call (Croma)
- Cable:
- Listing dimensions show about 100 cm (Croma)
- Warranty:
- 12 months, as listed by Croma (Croma)
Good for: Buyers whose phone, tablet or laptop has USB-C audio and no 3.5 mm jack.
Strengths
- Plugs straight into a USB-C port, with no adapter.
- Full inline controls including volume, which the 3.5 mm picks here mostly lack.
- A 12-month warranty on Croma's listing.
Weaknesses
- USB-C earphones do not work with every USB-C device, so confirm your phone supports USB-C audio. The listing claims broad compatibility, which we could not verify.
- Phones with a 3.5 mm jack cannot use it without an adapter, and it will not fit an older iPhone with a Lightning port.
- No independent review, and a short cable.
Trade-off: The only plug-in option for USB-C-only phones here, with less certainty about compatibility and no independent evidence.
Buying advice: Before buying, check your phone's specifications or the box of a USB-C accessory you already own. Some devices do not output audio through USB-C, and some need the earphone to include its own converter chip. If in doubt, buy from a seller with an easy return window.
Price: Check current price. We found no reliable current price in the sources we read.

Which connector does your phone need?
Most mistakes with wired earphones are connector mistakes. Check the bottom edge of your phone before you choose.
| Your phone | What fits | What to watch |
|---|---|---|
| Has a 3.5 mm headphone jack | The JBL, Sony and realme picks plug in directly. | Check the plug is 4-pole (it carries the mic) if you want to take calls. |
| Has only a USB-C port | The boAt BassHeads 100 C, if your phone supports USB-C audio. | Not every USB-C device outputs audio to wired earphones. Confirm before buying. |
| Has only USB-C, and you prefer a 3.5 mm earphone | A USB-C-to-3.5 mm adapter plus a 3.5 mm earphone. | Many adapters contain a small converter chip and some do not work on every phone. Confirm your phone supports the adapter, and expect extra cost. |
| An iPhone with a Lightning port | None of these four. | We did not evaluate Lightning-compatible earphones for this guide. |
Which earphones should you choose?
| If you want | Look at | Why, and what to check |
|---|---|---|
| A 3.5 mm earphone with a published specification | JBL C100SI | JBL publishes the full spec. The remote has no volume buttons. |
| The best fit options | Sony MDR-EX155AP | Four ear-tip sizes. Check price: its snapshot price is at the ₹1,000 cap. |
| The cheapest 3.5 mm pair for gaming | realme Buds 2 Neo | A 90° plug. Check that it is in stock and that the listing says 3.5 mm. |
| A plug-in earphone for a USB-C-only phone | boAt BassHeads 100 C | Has volume buttons. Confirm your phone supports USB-C audio. |
| Calls | Any of the four, with a caveat | All four have an inline mic. We found no call-quality test for any of them, so we cannot rank their mics. |
| Long cable life | No evidence either way | We found no durability evidence. Look for strain relief at the plug and a braided or flat cable in your own hands. |
What to check before you buy
- The plug and the port. 3.5 mm or USB-C, and for 3.5 mm a 4-pole plug if you want a mic.
- Mic and controls. An inline mic is common, but volume buttons are not. Two of the four (the JBL and the realme) are confirmed to lack them.
- Fit. Ear-tip size changes bass and noise isolation more than any specification. Use the tip sizes in the box.
- Warranty and seller. We could not confirm every Indian warranty term, so confirm the warranty and the seller on the listing, and keep the invoice.
- The exact model name. Look-alike products with similar names are common at this price.
Amazon or Flipkart for these earphones?
We cannot say which store is cheaper for any of these, because we could not read comparable, same-time prices from both. At this price a delivery charge or a shipping minimum can matter as much as the product price. Match the exact model and connector on both sides, check the seller, and compare delivery and returns. The buttons on each card open a marketplace search, so pick the listing that matches the model above. See how to compare prices, offers and coupons.
Earphones we looked at and left out
| Earphone | What we found on 11 October 2026 | Status |
|---|---|---|
| JBL Tune 310 Type-C | Smartprix lists it at ₹1,149 in one list and ₹1,499 in another, both above ₹1,000. | Above budget |
| boAt BassHeads 225 and 242, realme Buds 2, OnePlus and Xiaomi wired earphones | Appear in lists, but we did not verify an exact model, specifications or current price. | Not evaluated |
| Sennheiser, Samsung and Apple USB-C or 3.5 mm earphones | We did not verify a model within the budget with an Indian price and warranty. | Not evaluated |
"Not evaluated" means we did not verify the model, not that it is a bad product.
